One of the more curious and intimate moments from the campaign in Iowa occurred at a Carly Fiorina town hall event on the day before the Caucuses. After finishing her stump speech, Fiorina took questions from the audience. When she called on one man in his early 30s, he dove into an emotional story of electing to have an abortion for an unplanned pregnancy with his girlfriend. He finished his statement without asking a policy-related question. Instead the young man elected to ask Fiorina for a hug almost as if she had the ability to absolve him of his perceived sins. If enough voters feel a similar closeness and connection to Fiorina, it may be premature to count her out no matter what the polls say.
